Meet The Byrd Group
The Byrd Group is a real estate team at Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners in Peachtree City, Georgia, led by Tonya and Tom Byrd. We help clients buy and sell homes across metro Atlanta, with a focus on situations that go beyond a typical sale: probate and trust property, senior downsizing, relocation, and investment property decisions.
We start with your goals, not the transaction. We look at your timeline, your property, and what you want to happen next, and then we build a plan around it.
Tom and Tonya have called Fayette County home since 2016. Their family is all fur babies: two greyhounds, a dachshund, and three cats. They are also big University of Tennessee football fans. On a nice day, you will find them riding the golf cart paths together, grabbing wings at Taco Mac, or sharing a pizza at Partners Pizza.

Many real estate moves are simple. Others come with a lot more on the line, and those are the ones we are built for. We regularly guide clients through:

- Senior downsizing and moves into what comes next
- Relocation to and from South Metro Atlanta
- Investment property decisions, including rental owners weighing a sale, a 1031 exchange, or a Delaware Statutory Trust
Tonya is a member of the Keller Williams Real Estate Planner Community, a nationwide network of agents focused on helping clients build, protect, and transfer wealth through real estate. That network lets us connect with agents and buyers across the country and bring in specialists when a situation calls for it.

Tonya Byrd
CEO | REALTOR® | Certified KW Real Estate Planner™ | SRES®
Tonya is the CEO of The Byrd Group and leads listing strategy, guiding sellers through pricing, preparation, and marketing. Before real estate, Tonya worked in supply chain, and she holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. That background in planning and logistics still shapes how she guides clients through every step. She began her real estate career in 2008, joined Keller Williams in Texas in 2009, and moved her practice to Georgia in 2015. Tonya is a Certified Keller Williams Real Estate Planner™ and a Regional Ambassador for the KW Real Estate Planner Community. As a probate real estate specialist, she works closely with executors, trustees, and heirs, and she guides clients through senior downsizing, 1031 exchanges, and other major transitions.
Tom Byrd
CFO & COO | REALTOR® | MBA | SRES®
Tom joined The Byrd Group in 2019 and serves as its CFO and COO. Before real estate, Tom was an office manager for C.H. Robinson, a global logistics company, where he handled imports and exports by air freight and ocean container. Backed by his logistics experience and an MBA from the University of Tennessee, he manages the team’s financial operations, systems, and marketing coordination. Tom also works closely with our buyers and sellers. He occasionally takes the lead on a listing or works with a buyer, and once a home goes under contract, he leads the negotiations that follow so our clients have a steady advocate all the way to closing. During the contract-to-close process, Tom works closely with Kaelynn, our transaction coordinator, to keep every deadline and detail on track.
Kaelynn Larger
REALTOR® | Transaction Coordinator
Kaelynn has been our transaction coordinator since September 2023. She manages the details from contract to closing, keeping deadlines, paperwork, and communication between everyone involved organized, so your transaction stays on track. As a licensed REALTOR® herself, she understands every step of the process from the inside. Kaelynn is based in the greater Atlanta area. Outside of work, she loves cats and is a huge Harry Potter fan.
Carol Smith
Marketing and Communications
Carol joined The Byrd Group in May 2024 and handles our marketing and communications day to day, including social media, the blog, our newsletter, and listing marketing, so your home is promoted well and you stay informed throughout the process. Carol is a longtime friend of Tom and Tonya. The three of them met as students at the University of Tennessee.
Giving Back
Serving our community
Giving back matters to us. Tom and Tonya volunteer as Meals on Wheels drivers for Fayette County Senior Services, delivering meals and companionship to local seniors. A portion of every sale is also donated to organizations including KW Cares, KW Next Gen, and Kares 4 Kids.
